Action & Community Outreach

Throughout the PYP, MYP and DP, a major aim of the IB is to give students opportunity to determine how they live in relation to others, how they can contribute to the community, and how they can help others? It starts in the classroom and then extends beyond it, requiring students to take an active part in the communities in which they live. It is achieved through a process of discovery of self and community and of reflections inside as well as outside the classroom.

ISU prides itself on its commitment to connecting with the local community and natural surroundings through a variety of community activities and through regular excursions into the countryside, both as part of the formal taught curriculum and as part of the co-curricular activities and other special events during the school year such as the Primary camps and Secondary IDEALS week.

Our students and teachers have volunteered in various service learning projects with organizations such as Rainbow center, Vision-Impaired State School # 116, State School # 107, State Kindergarten # 111 and 1st sub-district of Songinokhairkhan district of Ulaanbaatar city, Natsagdorj Public library, Mongolian Waste Management Association, Mongolian Quilting Center, Bayanzurkh District Landscape and Service Department, The Verbist Care Center, Dolma Ling Soup Kitchen and Ulaanbaatar Park.
