All staff at ISU are provided with an annual PD allowance that they may use for their own professional learning.
ISU provides further professional development to its staff according to the needs of the school. This includes required IB training as well as specialised training in areas such as differentiating teaching and assessment to meet individual student needs, English as an additional language training, etc.
Beginning in school year 2014-2015, ISU is offering the university-credit course called TESMC. It is expected that all professional expatriate faculty will complete this course within two years beginning in the autumn of 2014 and, for new faculty entering in August 2015, within the first three semesters after starting at ISU.
